Dr. Idda Lyatonga SwaiLecturer and Ag. Dean

Idda is a Senior Lecturer of Local Governance and Gender in the Department of Local Government Management and Acting Dean of School of Public Administration and Management at Mzumbe University. Idda has more than 15 years of teaching experience and has been conducting long and short courses in the areas of Local Government Management, Leadership in Local Government particularly at the grass root level, Urban Governance, Social Science Research Methods, and Gender and Public Administration in general She has been involved in capacity building activities to train officials from the government, private and NGOs in the areas of leadership and governance, gender, local governance and Monitoring and Evaluation. Idda has been working with the President's Office, Regional Administration and Local Government and the Ministry of Health in the development of policies and guidelines as a consultant and a key stakeholder representing Mzumbe UniversityIdda has published and conducted researches in the area of gender, governance and reproductive health and has been involved in the implementation of various projects as a Gender Mainstreaming Expert, mobility project coordinator and Continuous Professional Development (CPD) coordinator. Idda was involved in organizing the Annual Health Monitoring and Evaluation Best Practices Conferences in three consecutive years from 2017 to 2019.

Igulu, George. RLecturer

Igulu, George is a Lecturer in the Department of Local Government Management at Mzumbe University. He holds a Master in Business Administration degree and an Advanced Diploma in Local Government Administration from IDM-Mzumbe. He has more than 25 years of working experience as a trainer, researcher and consultant in the areas of public administration, management, local government administration, strategic management and organizational leadership.

Rukia M Pazi Assistant Lecturer

Rukia is an Assistant Lecturer in the department of Local Government Management, Mzumbe University. She holds a Master in International Public Administration (IMPA) degree from Tsinghua University, China, Master of Public Administration in Local Government Management (MPA-LGM) degree from University of Botswana and a Bachelor of Public Administration-Local Government Management (BPA-LGM) degree from Mzumbe University. She is currently a PhD candidate at UIA, Norway. Her research areas of interest include Public Administration, Local Government Management and Governance.

Dr. Anna P LinjeAssistant Lecturer

Anna is a lecturer in the department of Local Government Management, Mzumbe University. She holds a PhD in Public Administration (PhD-PA) from Fort Hare University, South Africa; Masters of Public Administration in Local Government (MPA-LGM) from Mzumbe university and a Bachelor of Arts in Rural Development (BARD) from Sokoine University of Agriculture, Tanzania. Her areas of interest include, participatory and contemporary leadership and governance, Digital governance in LGAs, Issues in gender and development, Local government participatory program planning and development approaches.

Dr. Anosisye Kessale Mwandulusya Lecturer

Dr. Anosisye M. Kesale hold a PhD in Policy Planning and Management of Sokoine University of Agriculture. His broad spectrum of expertise and interests include Local Governance, Leadership, Health Systems Strengthening, Performance Management, Strategic Planning, Change Management, Management of Labour Laws and Policy Planning. Kesale has eleven years of experience working with national and international organizations in research, consulting, and capacity building initiatives. Among of the organizations has worked with are Benjamini Mkapa Foundation (BMF) in building capacity of Health facility Governing Committees, Presidents' Office Regional Administration and Local Government (PORALG), Ministry of Health in developing leadership and management guidelines, Ministry of Education and Vocational Training building capacity of newly appointed directors, head of departments and units, Ministry of Water and World Bank in building capacity on the field level leadership, Change Management and Theory of Change in Rural Water Supply and Sanitation. Has engaged in Developing the first Medium Term Strategic Plan for Rural Water Supply and Sanitation Agency (RUWASA), Developing Comprehensive Monitoring and Evaluation Framework for RUWASA, Reviewing the RUWASA Organization Structure and Functions, Local Government Authorities building, World Health Organization (WHO) assessing the operationality of guidelines and other norms and standards at the country level and Assessing of the functionality of health systems management in sub-national units of Tanzania. United Nations Children’s Funds (UNICEF) by developing the Theory Change for Using Data in the decision making at the facility level. He is currently Post-doctoral Research Fellow in a Gendered Leadership Advancing Systems and Structures Project.

Kavakule J Kaamo Tutorial Assistant

Kavakule J Kaamo is a Tutorial Assistant in the Department of Local Government-School of Public Administration and Management at Mzumbe University, Morogoro, Tanzania. He holds Bachelor of Local Government Management from Mzumbe University with three (3) years of working experience as a trainer both in non-degree and degree programmes. Kavakule is interested in teaching ethics and good governance, local governance studies, Industrial & Labor Relations, and strategic management.
